Dr. AlfredaDudley-bgAlfreda Dudley has been a Friendship Outreach Center Director since 2014. She is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at Towson University. In addition to teaching various courses in the Department of Computer & Information Sciences at Towson, she has served the community in various capacities; such as, advisor
to the National Society of Black Engineers and co-principle investigator on two federal grants that served the needs of underrepresented populations in computing. Because of her role at Towson, Dr. Dudley has been able to effectively assist in and contribute to the needs of the Friendship Outreach Center, Inc.’s client base.

The most rewarding aspect of her involvement with the Outreach Center is being able to help others who are in need. Toward helping the Outreach Center to fulfill its mission, Dr. Dudley has accomplished several goals: assisted in supplying the Center with Towson computing undergraduate students who created a database for the Center’s workforce development program and created an assessment plan for the Center’s website; hosted high school student Outreach Center interns for a summer YouthWorks Program at Towson; created and instructed computing training sessions with the Center’s clients; assisted in the evaluation of the Center’s computing equipment for assessment by the Mayor’s Office; and she has donated clothes, books, money, and computer equipment to the Center. Dr. Dudley’s altruistic spirit reaches beyond the Outreach Center. She participates in several activities at her church and she supports several nonprofit organizations including Goodwill of the Chesapeake, UNCF, ASPCA, SPCA of Maryland, Helping Up Missions, Humane Society of Baltimore County (and U.S.), and the Salvation Army.

A life-long native of Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Dudley loves the city’s close proximity to other major metropolitan areas, she enjoys experiencing the four seasons in Baltimore, and she appreciates the variety of the geographic areas in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. Dr. Dudley’s work with the Outreach Center helps to fulfill her commitment to use her gifts to help others who are in need. She truly believes that in the near future, Baltimore will be one of the most preeminent cities in the world.
